Career Strategies and Development Planning for Researchers

Target Group: Postdoctoral researchers
  
In cooperation with the University of Hohenheim.
 
The workshop aims to help researchers to assess their current position, to identify career goals and to develop a road map for achieving them in the individual setting. It also provides an insightful overview of the diverse German research landscape, the career system in academia, and the current drivers and trends of the world of work beyond research.
 
Addressing both the opportunities and challenges of intersectoral mobility, the programme is designed to facilitate career decision-making in a public sector work environment characterised by project funding and temporary employment contracts.
 
By participating in this workshop, you will be better equipped to
- develop a vision for your personal and professional future,
- recognise your career motivation, values, strengths, and developmental needs,
- understand how your career may be influenced by external drivers and trends,
- make decisions in volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambivallent work environment
- and create a road map for your individual setting.
 
Please note: there will be approx. 3.0 hours pre-workshop activities. The link will be sent to you on 10/25/23.
 
The workshop is aimed at postdocs and is offered by the University of Hohenheim. 2 places are available for postdocs from Konstanz.
