Challenging Learning Steps – How to Help Students Pass Discipline-Specific Learning Bottlenecks

“Decoding the Disciplines” is a process for increasing student learning by narrowing the gap between expert thinking and novice thinking (see http://decodingthedisciplines.org/).
Inspired by this approach, this workshop will help participants to 1. identify discipline-specific bottlenecks in students’ conceptual understanding and 2. design relevant instructional interventions that support students so that they may master the uptake of difficult concepts in their respective disciplines.
 
Counting towards the Baden-Wuerttemberg Certificate for Teaching and Learning at University Level: Module II, Topic 4 (8 AE).
