Academic Appointment Procedures are a unique type of application process with their own rules. Knowing and practising these procedures can increase your chances of securing a professorship.

This information session provides an introduction to the appointment process, including the procedural steps and the requirements for a professorship. It also offers concise guidance on preparing a written application, including an overview of the application documents, best-practice examples for cover letters and CVs, and the preparation of research and teaching statements.

Please note that this information session focuses on appointment procedures in German-speaking countries.

The second part of the session, “The Hearing”, will take place on 22 January 2026. Both sessions can be attended separately.
