Academic Writing in the Humanities and Social Sciences

Course Type: Online-Workshop (plus individual coaching sessions)
Target Group: Doctoral researchers in the Humanities and Social Sciences

This workshop is designed to improve the participants’ writing skills within the academic field. For this purpose, the steps of the writing process—from the first idea to the finished
text—are untangled and separately discussed. Participants are also provided with both a broad variety of helpful techniques and practicable knowledge about the English academic writing style. Last but not least, we will discuss the possible applications and limitations of AI.

There will be opportunity to benefit from the group exchange and to give and receive feedback.

The workshop will take place for everyone on 12 and 13 November 2025. In addition, on 17 November, participants may consult the trainer via Zoom and receive 30 minutes of individual feedback on specific aspects of their texts (time slots will be determined in the workshop).
