ECR Career Afternoon 2025 – Exploring Career Paths Inside and Outside Academia
Course Type: Information session and networking event
Target Group: Doctoral and postdoctoral researchers
In cooperation with the Cluster “The Politics of Inequality”.
Join us for an insightful Career Afternoon 2025! Whether you are heading for an academic career or preparing for career paths outside of academia, this event will provide you with valuable input.
We will start with a brief overview of career opportunities for PhD graduates outside of academia, with regard to employment opportunities, job satisfaction and salary prospects.
Then there will be two panel discussions with former UKN researchers, who are now working either inside or outside of academia. They will share their experience transitioning into their next career steps, including the qualifications and experiences that were useful entering their new positions. They will also describe their present job roles and day-to-day business etc. Finally, you are warmly invited to an open round for questions and comments.
Our panelists will cover the Cluster disciplines (sociology, political science, linguistics and economics) – interested ECRs from these or any other departments are very welcome to join!
We kindly ask participants to register for the ECR Career Afternoon at the Cluster website.
