Many scientific projects suffer from an insufficient planning, unclear goal definitions and consequently a bad time management. This leads to project delays, inefficient use of resources and often to frustration.

This workshop will support young researchers in the acquisition of the necessary skills for an effective management of their research project. It is based on the classical project management tools which are adapted to the need of exploratory science. In extensive hands-on exercises participants will define goals and milestones for their individual project, outline project definitions and work structures and practice to organise their working time by setting priorities, planning their workload, delegating tasks and motivating themselves.

Counting towards the Certificate “Leadership, Management, Transfer of Knowledge”: Module II (16 AE).

Chemist; since 2010 freelance trainer for project management and time management. Studied Chemistry at the RWTH Aachen and at the Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg; doctorate from the Fritz-Haber-Institute in Berlin. Ten years of experience as a project manager for IT projects and as a trainer for collaborations in international teams. Work areas: project management, goal setting, time management and health promotion.
